Ideally located
Residents of the Sanctuary enjoy close proximity to everything from grand luxuries to small conveniences. Uptown Charlotte is just a 20-minute drive from the Sanctuary. The community is less than three miles from I-485, six miles from I-77 and nine miles from I-85.

Schools
School-aged children living at the Sanctuary may attend classes at Charlotte-Mecklenburg public schools or a wide selection of excellent private schools.

Shopping and Convenience

  • Grocery stores, drug stores, dry cleaners, banks, video stores and a wealth of restaurants are less than a 10-minute drive from the Sanctuary, including Lowes Foods and Super Wal-Mart, Blockbuster Video, Caribou Coffee, Starbuck’s Coffee and more.
  • The nearby Ballantyne area offers shopping, dining and recreational venues in the Ballantyne Commons shopping center, as well as StoneCrest at Piper Glen, with Alcoves home furnishings and accessories; finee and Chico’s women’s boutiques; DeWoolfson Down, a linens emporium; Voci Spa; and Regal 22 Cinemas. There’s also a Harris Teeter and a Target. A special "Children's Village" features such shops as Pet Essentials, EB Game World and Vision Dance Studio.
  • SouthPark is one of North Carolina's largest malls, offering several department stores, including Nordstrom’s, Kate Spade, Tiffany’s, Banana Republic, Pottery Barn, COACH, Sur la Table, to name a few. Carolina Place Mall in Pineville features more than 100 stores including Belk, Dillards, J.C. Penney, Hecht's and Sears.

  • Five-minutes from the Sanctuary, the town of Ayrsley offers the Steele Creek Family YMCA, and a recently expanded Morrison Family YMCA is the largest of its kind in the Charlotte area with the most state-of-the-art equipment available in the Ballantyne area, offering a wide selection of youth and adult sports, including soccer, baseball, basketball, swimming and more.
  • Outdoor lovers can enjoy hiking in nearby Crowders Mountain State Park or South Mountains State Park or a day trip to the Blue Ridge Parkway in Western North Carolina.
  • Those who enjoy a day on the lake have a wide selection of choices including Lake Wylie and Lake Norman.
  • Paramount's Carowinds amusement park, Verizon Wireless Amphitheater and Independence Arena offer great entertainment options.
