About the Area

The Palisades rises from a once undiscovered location on a 1,500 acre woodland peninsula on eight coves of Lake Wylie. The newly completed four lane Buster Boyd Bridge and NC Hwy 49 mark the epicenter of a neighborhood surrounded by the 1,200 acre McDowell Park & Nature Preserve, Lake Wylie recreation and many conveniences of shopping and dining.

While the amenities within The Palisades may fulfill almost all our residents’ needs, this unique community also boasts convenient access to a myriad of outside attractions, with multiple routes available. Easy access to I-485 means that downtown Charlotte, Carolina Place Mall, the Ballantyne area, and The Charlotte Douglas International Airport are minutes away. And Lake Wylie, Paramount’s Carowinds, and the Arrowood/Whitehall job centers are just a stone’s throw from the community.

Nicklaus’ Design Golf Course

The Palisades™ Golf and Country Club was designed to be a challenging test of golf while at the same time, playable to golfers of all skill levels. Shaped into the hills bordering Lake Wylie, this Audubon International Gold Signature golf course offers 18 visually dynamic golf holes with a tremendous amount of shot variety. The course will be as challenging as the golfer wants to make it by offering a wide variety of bail-out areas, teeing areas and alternative paths to the green. The first few holes have wider fairways for an easy start, and the finishing holes are as challenging and memorable as any in the Charlotte area.

Sports Complex

The Palisades Country Club includes the 15-acre "Tim Wilkison Signature Club", a sports complex which includes tennis, swim, and fitness facilities. The club has, as its centerpiece, a 5,000 square foot clubhouse - here, you'll find a lounge and snack bar as well as a state-of-the-art exercise area.

Town Center

The Palisades™ Town Center will combine a 48,000 square foot Harris Teeter Grocery Store, national and neighborhood retailers, a full service bank and sit down restaurants. Local offices such as medical and commercial services and an innovative live/work village in a proposed 'main street' setting will be included. Single family residences, townhomes, condominiums and apartment homes will be woven closely together with small parks, nature corridors, walking and biking trails and other amenities. Other proposed uses include a day care, fire station, health club and a shared elementary school/community park site.
