The Lake Norman area offers many historic, cultural, recreational and
entertainment venues including:
- Lazy 5 Ranch offers more than 400 animals from six continents in a
natural habitat you can tour from your car or on a hayride.
- For more than 20 years, Carrigan Farms has been known for
pick-your-own fruits and vegetables and for its famous hayrides.
- Queens Landing offers everything from miniature golf and bumper boats
to sightseeing cruises on the Catawba Queen and Catawba Belle.
- Jetton Park, a 106-acre lakefront park, features hiking trails,
bicycles for rent, tennis courts, a sunning beach and a large playground.
- The Terrell Country Store, built in 1891, was the focal point for
trade and commerce in Terrell, N.C. The store housed the area post office
from 1893 to 1997.
- The North Carolina Auto Racing Hall of Fame, in Mooresville, N.C.,
provides race fans with a free race shop guide and map. The museum
features more than 35 racecars and is dedicated to all types of auto
racing.
- In nearby Charlotte, N.C., the North Carolina Blumenthal Performing
Arts Center, the Tryon Center for Visual Art and the Mint Museum of Art
and Mint Museum of Craft + Design offer residents opportunities to
experience the arts.
- Families can explore science at Discovery Place and the OMINIMAX
Theatre in uptown Charlotte and Duke Power’s Energy Explorium in
Cornelius, N.C.
- Lake Norman residents can root for the NFL Carolina Panthers, the new
NBA Charlotte Bobcats and WNBA Charlotte Sting, AAA Baseball’s Charlotte
Knights, a farm club for the Chicago White Sox, the East Coast Hockey
League's Charlotte Checkers and the Arena Football League’s Carolina

Shopping and Convenience
- NorthView Harbour residents can shop at the area’s regional shopping
destinations including Concord Mills and Carolina Mall in Concord and
SouthPark Mall and Carolina Place Mall in Charlotte.
- Just a short distance from NorthView Harbour, Northlake Mall is
scheduled to open in late 2005. Featuring more than 150 stores, the
Northlake development will eventually expand to include NorthCrest, a
365,000-square-foot, open-air mall.
- Nearby Mooresville is home to both a Wal-Mart Supercenter and a new
SuperTarget.
- Open-air Birkdale Village in Huntersville offers a Barnes & Noble,
Gap, Talbots, Banana Republic, Dick’s Sporting Goods, a 16-screen movie
theater, an assortment of restaurants and more.
- Hickory Furniture Mart, less than an hour away in Hickory, N.C., is
the largest furniture mart of its kind in the nation. The Mart complex
features 100 factory stores, outlets and galleries selling more than 1,000
furniture lines.
- Valley Hills Mall, also in Hickory, is the largest regional shopping
mall between Asheville and Charlotte. Valley Hills Mall is anchored by
several major department stores and features more than 75 fine shops and a
new food court.

Lake Norman Regional Medical Center full service hospital, a 117-bed acute
care facility along with adjacent Medical Pavilion on a 27.5-acre campus in
Mooresville, only 30 minutes away, offers comprehensive medical care

Northcross Urgent Care at Norcross Medical Park in Huntersville treats
minor illness and injuries. More than 100 physicians have active practices
in the area.
Transportation
From I-77, NorthView Harbour residents can easily access the
Charlotte-Douglas International Airport, which offers more than 500 daily
departures to destinations around the United States and the world. Chartered
flights are available at the Concord Regional Airport.
