See What My Clients Are Saying

This is a letter of endorsement, long overdue.  But, to be frank our customer – realtor relationship started out with some misgiving.  Close church friends who relocated to Denver, NC recommended a proven and tried realtor.  Appointments were made as we were on a very limited time schedule.  We had been in search of waterside property throughout Virginia, and my wife (the primary driver) had been heavily engrossed with web, phone, brochure and developers’ shows in search of other retirement opportunities.  After 28 years military – I wanted precision and to get back to my projects.

Upon arriving at the Realtor’s office, the gentleman with whom we had an appointment was not available, and Mr. Kevin Dawson somehow was identified to assist my wife & I.  Adding to my frustration, this Kevin Dawson was also manning the office that precious Saturday.  Obviously, there was a tall wall of doubt to overcome.

Kevin Dawson gave us the basic treatment that I would expect while covering the office desk.  As this was my first visit to the area, we received an orientation (and map recon) with some of the pros and cons of the various areas.  Once he were able, we joined Kevin to acquaint us with various development areas and resale’s – all overwhelming, but as I later realized it allowed Kevin to uncover what our expectations and desires we sought in a retirement location and home.  Tough task as my wife and I have very different views.

We covered a lot of territory – but did not find a place.  My wife kept prompting us to re-look the established community that our close friends were building.  At least we had a reference property in which to compare.  Kevin’s assessment pointed out many positives attributes and items that were marginal or that we should be aware.  But alas our first visit was thought not successful.  In retrospect, a weekend under the tutelage of Kevin allowed us to discern key points in a “desirable” waterfront property, and we gained a liking for the Lake Norman area and appreciated what the different communities and locals offered.  Our discussions while being driven around this large Lake greatly assisted in firming our hard needs and where we would compromise, if needed.  Kevin’s frank discussions also gave me confidence that our welfare, not a sale, was of prime importance.  Lastly, a trust developed that allowed us to continue our search long-distance through him, and made us want to come back on his recommendation.

And it gets better.  As it turned out, Kevin Dawson persisted in “going the extra mile” and doing things that I did not expect any realtor would do.  The follow-up, even after the property was purchased, to a point that I did not have to return for closing.  Month’s later following purchase, Kevin reported on work that was being done and followed up with the previous owner and neighboring owners to ensure property line encroachment was documented.

In short, though we purchased seven houses during my career and my wife experienced in the realty-property management, we both agree that Kevin Dawson excelled beyond our expectation and far surpasses the realtors we have experienced.  Kevin Dawson is a true professional and now a trusted friend.  I have bragged about him to other interested friends and continue to recommend him to friends seeking that waterside retirement.  Please provide my contact number to any prospective client.
Very Respectfully,

“Kevin spent a lot of time with us to show us the Lake and surrounding areas.  By the time we decided, the house we chose was no longer on the market, but Kevin went the extra mile and contacted the seller directly, resulting in a smooth For Sale By Owner (FSBO) contract and closing. Because of him, we were able to purchase the exact house we wanted.”

Dear Kevin
I want to thank you for the superb service you recently provided us in both selling our existing home and facilitating the purchase of a new one.
When we first contacted you, I outlined a challenge to sell our home within 60 days so that we could move before the start of the new school year. This was a difficult task, given that our home was brand new and would be competing in an area dominated by new home construction. At the same time, we were not willing to concede too much on the price and were prepared to accept the prospect of staying.
Not only did you accept that challenge of selling our home, but also fulfilled our demanding expectations on purchasing a new one in parallel transactions. On the sell side, your advice on the most effective marketing strategy, including pricing, was significant in making this sale happen. We also appreciate the open feedback and responsiveness in addressing our concerns and need for information during this time period.
In addition on the buying side, as we encountered last-minute hurdles prior to closing, you were very instrumental in following-up to ensure these issues were resolved.
Once again thank you for the great service and I would highly recommend your special capabilities to any potential homebuyer or seller.
Sincerely,
Robert T. Wilhite, III
